BASS
Saša Čano was born in Croatia and studied in the Sarajevo Music Academy and later on masterclasses with prof. Dunja Vejzović. As one of the leading soloists on Slovenian National theater Ljubljana’s opera stage he has performed much of the bass repertoire, including Zaccharia `Nabucco`, Ferrando `Il Trovatore`, Count Walter `Louisa Miller`, Ivan Susanin `A Life for the Tsar`, Rocco `Fidelio`, Marcel Huguenot, Kezal `The Bartered Bride`, Don Pasquale, Waterman `Rusalka`, and King Rene `Iolanta`. Other roles include Gottfried in the world première of Offenbach’s `Die Rheinnixen` also in Winterthur (Suisse), Bolzano and St. Pölten (Austria), King of Clubs and The Cook in The Love for Three Oranges , Kan Kontschak `Prince Igor`, Leporello `Don Giovanni`. On November 2008 he was Balthazar La favorite concert performance Cadogan Hall. He has sung as a guest throughout Croatia, and in Serbia, Switzerland, Hungary and London. At “Al bustan festival“ Beirut - Lebanon sung Beethoven IX. symphony. He made his Longborough debut in 2010 as Commendatore `Don Giovanni`, next year as Don Alfonso in `Cosi fan tutte` and then in next season as Sarastro in `Magic flute`. In June 2014 he had concert debut in Teatro Amazon in Manaus - Brazil with Amazon Philharmonic.
