Kristina Yorgova has performed and studied across a dozen countries throughout continental Europe and the United Kingdom as a concert pianist, chamber musician, accompanist, répétiteur, vocal coach and orchestra pianist. A gifted polyglot, Kristina speaks English, German, Italian, French, Russian and her native Bulgarian.
In the 2024/25 season, Kristina joined the music team as Solo Répétiteur at Staatstheater Nürnberg, Germany. She was previously a vocal coach and accompanist at the Haute école de musique de Genève (Neuchâtel) during 2023/24, the Emerging Artist Répétiteur at Scottish Opera during 2022/23 and a Studio Artist Répétiteur at the Mascarade Opera Studio in Florence, Italy, 2020-2022.
Past productions include Eugen Onegin, Macbeth, La traviata, Le nozze di Figaro, Der fliegende Holländer, Märchen im Grand Hotel (Staatstheater Nürnberg), Il trittico (Sir David McVicar, Scottish Opera), Carmen (Jonathan Fulljames, Scottish Opera), Carmen (Wu Tsang, Schauspielhaus Zürich), La cenerentola (New Generation Festival, Florence), Mascarade Opera Studio Showcase (Teatro La Fenice, Venice), Opera Highlights Autumn Tour (Scottish Opera) and The Bear (Marie Lambert-Le Bihan, Mascarade Opera Studio). Conductors have included Roland Böer, Jan Croonenbroeck, Jonathan Santagada, Dane Lam, Stuart Stratford and Sandor Karolyi.
In 2023, she was selected for the Répétiteur Course at the Georg Solti Accademia (GSA) where she received instruction from Sir Richard Bonynge, James Vaughan, Antony Legge, Jonathan Papp and Rodrigo de Vera. Kristina was invited back to the Bel Canto Course for singers at the GSA later that same year.
In additional to her répétiteur and accompanist duties, her concert and recital work has included Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor by W.A. Mozart with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, Grosse Fuge Op. 134 by Beethoven with Karolina Pancernaite at the Southbank Centre, Purcell Room in London, as well as multiple concerti with the State Opera Stara Zagora Orchestra and Sinfonietta Vidin. Kristina has also been engaged for orchestral piano and celeste duties for the Czech Philharmonic, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Staatsphilharmonie Nürnberg. She has played recitals in venues across continental Europe and the United Kingdom including her native Bulgaria, Belgium, England, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Lithuania, Russia, Scotland, Spain and Switzerland.
Kristina was a Finalist at the 8th Stasys Vainiunas International Piano Competition in Lithuania. In 2019, she was Runner-Up in the Bamber/Galloway Piano Competition. In 2015, she won the Bach Prize for Organ, Piano and Harpsichord, both at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Kristina graduated with a Masters of Music (Performance) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where she studied with Professors Petras Geniusas and Fali Pavri. Her early work as an accompanist was guided by Julia Lynch. During her studies, she completed ERASMUS+ study exchange at the Sergei Rachmaninov Conservatoire, Rostov-on-Don.
